Trilogy

For this sweater I wanted a cozy, quick knit that could be worn everyday.  I loved the first version I knit SO MUCH that I decided to knit a sequel, and another…..The options of holding different yarn weights either single, double or triple provide a unique opportunity to play around with yarns of different weights and colors and some serious stash busting! Have fun with this one! You’ll wear it often! 

Yarn

YOTH Father, Aran Weight Yarn 100% Rambouillet Wool, 220 yards/100g, Shown above in Black Mission Fig

740 ( 820, 890, 1020) (1100, 1200, 1280) 1400 yards

*Note: for this version yarn is held double, so you will need the estimated yardage of EACH yarn.

*This version is a GREAT Stash Buster, so if you have leftover balls you can approximate by weight: 535 (610, 685, 760) (820, 895, 950) 1090 grams

A note on Marling the colors and fading.....

This was my first time doing it this way, but I found that even though you're only knitting with 3 strands at once, I liked the way the colors blended best when I had 4 or even 5 balls of yarn attached to the sweater, and each round I would swap out a strand, gradually incorporating the next color I wanted to blend to....

US Size 7 (4.5 mm) circular needles, 16” cord. 

US Size 10.5 (6.5 mm) circular needles, minimum 24” cord (or size needed to obtain gauge) 

*US Size US 8’s (5.0 mm) circular needles, 16” cord. *Optional for a stretchier bind off. 

DPN in both needle sizes (optional) for sleeves

Tapestry needle

Stitch marker (4; one unique to denote BOR). 

Waste yarn or stitch holders for sleeve stitches

14 stitches x 19 rounds = 4 x 4 “ stockinette stitch with largest needles. 

Notes

This simple raglan pullover is worked from the top down.  Stitches are cast on for the back and the beginning of the sweater is worked flat to shape the shoulders, then stitches are cast on for the front neck and joined in the round for the remainder of the sweater. This cozy sweater can be worn with 0-8”positive ease. Shown in size 3 with 7” positive ease.
